Ask Yourself the Following Questions
1. Do you see any visible cracks on the surface of your gutters? Cracks will lead to water leakage, which will lead to water damage on your home. If not dealt with small cracks can lead to larger cracks.
2. Is there any flaking or peeling paint near the base of the home or on the gutters themselves? Peeling paint is a sure sign that your gutters are leaking water, causing the paint to peel.
3. Do you see water marks directly below the gutters? As water pours over the surface of your home, directly below the gutter, the ground is absorbing the water. As the sun dries the water you can see watermarks left behind.
4. Are there certain spots in your gutters where leaves and debris seem to continually get caught? If so, your gutters are most likely clogged, possibly caused by a crack in your gutter. You will most likely want to contact a gutter specialist to have them access the issue.
5. Are your gutters pulling away from your home, or are the downspouts disconnect from the gutter/home? If so, it might be time for new ones.
